Then I looked again, and I heard the voices of thousands and millions of angels around the throne and of the living beings and the elders. And they sang in a mighty chorus:

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered—
to receive power and riches
and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and blessing.”

Revelation 5:11-12 (NLT)

My granddaughters love to draw and both are really quite good. Kate is an expert at drawing horses, her passion in life. I have a picture of a lighthouse that Tori drew at age 4 that is amazing. She has a keen eye and great sense of color.

I can’t draw at all. Even my stick figures need work. So when Beth asks us in the Beloved Disciple study homework to draw a picture of Revelation 4, you can only imagine what mine looks like. Mark walked in while I was at it and asked me what I was doing. Even after I explained, he gave me that nod that says, “Yes, Dear.”

But do you know what happened? Even my very rudimentary drawing allowed me to see with my heart’s eyes that great throne room. John’s description of color, space, people, sounds, furniture, creatures, and majesty filled me with awe and excitement.

However, that was just the prelude for the glory and majesty of Revelation 5. I love to sing and have been part of choirs since I was nine. I noticed that everyone is singing in that throne room. I think God must love to hear us singing and Heaven is going to be one big choir. It won’t matter if your earthly voice is one of a soloist or tone deaf, we’ll join the thousands of angels, elders, and all the creatures singing praise and glory to the Lamb.

My heart swells as I think about how wonderful that day will be. I can hardly wait to join that choir…hallelujah!
